Music and Entrance Scholarships at Oxbridge School:
Music Scholarships:
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
Students can audition for a music scholarship with instruments or voice. We award scholarships to pupils who will contribute significantly to school music and pupils with a natural flair for performing and/or composing, which may include improvisation. They will represent the school by performing at internal and external events.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate clear musical ability for entry on at least one instrument (or voice) with appropriate documentary evidence of performances and accomplishments.
Successful students will receive a modest reduction in school fees which should be used to pay for regular musical tuition.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR SELECTION?
Submit a request, outlining the reasons you believe that your child should be considered for a music scholarship. This will be considered by our specialist staff and if successful, a scholarship audition will be arranged at the school.
AT THE AUDITION:
Play two contrasting pieces of prepared music. (Candidates are responsible for providing their own accompanist or recorded accompaniment if needed)
Have a discussion with the Principal and/or music staff about past and present musical activities and what they enjoy about music-making. (Please bring any evidence to support this discussion such as grade or competition certificates.)
AFTERWARDS:
The result of the scholarship audition will be notified to parents within one week.
Entrance Scholarships:
Oxbridge School works with the Zubin Foundation and wishes to support lower-income families from ethnic minorities and so the school has set aside financial aid by way of scholarship funds to students from this sector. Two entrance scholarships are reserved annually.
The scholarships offered range in value according to individual needs. Parents should contact our Admissions team in the first instance.
